Heavy Equipment Operator
LOCATION - Granbury and Tolar, TX
SUMMARY
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating various equipment such as Backhoe, Loader, Excavator, Dozer, Blade, Skid Steer and other miscellaneous equipment. Must possess a positive attitude to support Company goals and objectives and be knowledgeable and experienced in safe work practices with a desire to be a top safety performer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs the safe & efficient operation of haul trucks, water trucks, loaders, dozers, graders & excavators and other
equipment to meet production targets.
Conducts pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections and complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities.
Maintains heavy equipment in good operating condition, reporting & logging maintenance requirements or concerns.
Completes production reporting and other documentation as required.
Communicates effectively and professionally with other team members.
Acts as a leader of both safety and production for the team by ensuring compliance with all Company, customer, and legislated safety policies and procedures.
Serves as an excellent Company ambassador and safety champion at all times.
Performs other duties as required.
JOB SKILLS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
2+ years of experience in heavy mobile equipment operation in a surface mining environment
Knowledge of safe and productive operation of Cat equipment
Must possess a valid Class C driver’s license or greater
Ability to be a team leader in all safety aspects of the position
Must possess the ability to operate equipment in the presence of field crew members and utilities, ensuring the safety of all persons, equipment, property and utilities in the area
Knowledge and understanding of safe work practices associated with heavy equipment
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and in a dusty environment
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather, conditions, environments and seasons and perform moderate physical labor in a safe manner.
Required to wear standard personal protective equipment to include hard hat, safety glasses, safety boots, fire retardant clothes, gloves, and occasionally/possibly, a face shield.
Position requires the ability to lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Typically bends, stoops and crouches on a regular basis
Overtime, weekend work and shift work (day and night) may be frequently required.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Must pass a pre-employment, post-offer drug screen, physical and background check.
